FocusFoto Lens Foot Quick Release Tripod Plate Support Arca Type Replacement for CAN0N RF 600mm F11 is STM & for CAN0N RF 800mm F11 is STM Lens

The FocusFoto Lens Foot is a nice addition to the use of the RF 600f11 lens but I feel it is a little short for the RF800mmf11 lens’ use. I’ll explain below. It allows the moment arm load to be transferred from the camera body’s lens mount (not good) close to the center of mass of the extended lens thereby reducing the chance of damage to the lens mount of the camera body. There is one issue I have noticed, and it came about after I tried an un-named competitor’s similar product. The height of the riser portion of the foot (part from the ARCA Swiss plate to the lens attachment screw) would be better if it were at least 1.75 inch minimum. At the current total height of 1.03 inches, counting for the thickness of the ARCA plate (0.33 inches), the spacing between top of ARCA plate to face of the lens foot mounting pad (on the lens) is approximately 0.675 inches, somewhat narrower than a better (taller) design would provide. I feel it would be a better design with a spacing of at least 1.25 inches. This would give more access to the mount when inserting the ARCA foot onto the tripod. Other than this one issue, I like the foot and use it regularly on the RF600mmf11 lens. The competitor’s foot I also purchased has more room between the ARCA plate and the lens foot mounting pad (1.25 inches) so I use it mainly on the RF 800mmf11 lens.
